A guide to upcoming movies with an eye to the political leanings of the principal players.
Movie Title: Act of Valor
Reviewer: Rubber Biscuit
Genre: Action Thriller
Film’s political message- While I have not seen the movie this film was originally envisioned as a Navy SEAL training film. I do not expect any political message other than “Navy SEALS ROCK!)
Produced by:
Relativity Media (principals Ron Burkle and Ryan Kavanaugh) Ron Burkle holds a significant equity stake in Relativity media. Ron Burkle is a well-known Democratic supporter and fundraiser who raised more than $1,000,000 for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. Bill Clinton is employed by a Burkle owned company. Burkle has supported California State Treasurer Phil Angelides and employed former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, both of whom are former California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) board members, but has also made contributions to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Diane Feinstein, and Barbara Boxer. Ryan Kavanaugh, Founder and CEO of Relativity Media is a frequent contributor to numerous Republican candidates for House and Senate seats in a number of different states. He frequently donated to John McCain’s presidential campaigns. While Ryan holds a larger piece of Relativity Media, his political donations are dwarfed by the contributions of billionaire playboy Burkle.
Directed by:
Mike McCoy Scott Waugh- No political involvement noted on these two young, dynamic “Bandito Brothers” filmmakers.
Starring: Alex Veadov, Roselyn Sanchez, Nestor Serrano, Emelio Rivera, U.S. Navy SEALS and U.S. Navy SWCC Special Warfare Combatant Crewmen- No political activity evidences on the part of any of the actors involved in this film. And did we say “Navy SEALS ROCK!”
Release Date- January 24th
Political Ratings- 3 donkeys (weighed significantly by the numerous high dollar donations to a long list of Democrat candidates committees, and causes, over the last 8+ years on the part of the legendary donor Ron Burkle)
Ratings scale- Leans “Right” on a scale of 1-5 Elephants
Leans “Left” on a scale of 1-5 Donkeys
